Our Beginners Stand Up & Paddle lessons at Home Water are designed especially for complete beginners or for those who have done a little stand up paddle boarding before and who want to learn properly. They are also for those who have not yet completed their BSUPA Level 1 'Ready to Ride' certificate and wish to do so.
Your Instructor will teach you step by step how to stand up and get paddling, starting with your SUP board on the land and then progressing onto the water. The group session will last approximately two hours and when you have mastered all of the basics (which most people can do in one session) you will receive your BSUPA 'Ready to Ride' certificate.
Children aged 11 years and older are welcome to participate in these sessions as long as a parent/legal guardian is booked to paddle with them, accompanying and supervising them on and off the water at all times, on a strict ratio of one child to one parent/legal guardian. Please note that aunts, uncles, older siblings etc. do not count, it has to be the child's actual parent/legal guardian.
SUP equipment, Personal Buoyancy Aids (PBAs) and high viz rash vests are provided and wetsuits and wetshoes, in various sizes, are available to use.
Please bring with you a bottle of water, swimwear & a towel, a strap to secure your glasses, an old baseball hat & sun cream if it's sunny & no expensive watches, jewellery or valuables. If you have your own wetsuit and wet shoes or boots please bring them too. Thank you.
If you need to cancel and want a refund, please do so within 48 hours of the start time of your booking.
Although we hope you don't need to cancel your booking, you can do so at any time up to 48 hours prior the start time of the booked SUP activity and receive a full refund. If you cancel within 48 hours of the start time of the booked SUP activity, or you are very late for or do not attend the booked SUP activity (i.e. a ‘no-show’) you will not receive a refund. Thanks for your understanding.
