Trifarm Paddle n Play SUP

sup - Up to 27 people

These are DIY 'Paddle n Play' sessions for adults and children aged 11-17 years where you get access to stand up paddle at the beautiful Trifarm swimming lake and the chance to relax and enjoy a quiet paddle, using our SUP boards or your own. You must be a reasonably competent paddler, who can get back onto their SUP board unaided and have your BSUPA Level 1 'Ready to Ride' certificate, or equivalent, to participate in these sessions. If you don't have this certificate, then please go and book yourself into one of our BSUPA 'Ready to Ride' courses! Thank you.

Our Instructors will be on hand to keep a safety eye on you as you enjoy some fresh air and have some SUP fun. They will give you a quick intro to the site/safety briefing, help you launch etc. and will be happy to give you a little paddling/kit advice if you ask for it.

You can use all of our equipment (£30) or you can bring your own (£15). If you would like to use our equipment (i.e. our SUP boards and paddles etc.) please select it as an 'added extra' when you book. Appropriate water sports clothing, personal buoyancy aids and footwear must be brought and worn. We do have some buoyancy aids that you can hire if you don't have your own (£3 each). Please select it as an 'added extra' when you book.

There are quite a few important safety rules and procedures that we all need to follow, especially regarding Covid-19. Here they are:

1 - You must be a competent swimmer and able to swim at least 25m clothed.

2 - Each 11-17yr old must be accompanied and supervised fully at all times in the session, both on and off the water, by their parent/legal guardian, on a 1:2:1 basis. No child is allowed onto the lake without their parent/legal guardian with them.

3 - The Government's Covid-19 advice and guidance, including social distance rules, must be followed by everyone, although you must accept that in the unlikely event of an emergency, we and possibly others may break the social distance rules to assist you. (If you plan to meet with friends to paddle in this session, please remember it can be with up to but no more than 5 other people from outside your household.)

4 - Please bring a small dry bag to carry on your SUP board (one per household/bubble is fine) containing a small personal outdoor first aid kit plus personal hand sanitising gel. Please be prepared to administer first aid to yourself/household/bubble.

5 - Please do not bring any valuables to the site as we can't secure them (money, jewellery, posh watches, designer sunglasses, electronics etc.)

6 - Before you leave home, please cover any cuts & grazes with strong waterproof plasters.

7 - The main gate will be unlocked 15 minutes before the start time of your session. Please do not arrive any earlier than this as the site will be locked and there is no where to park. You will need to be packed up and off the site by the finish time of your session.

On arrival please drive down the entrance track to the welcome checkpoint, where your name will be checked against the booking list and your temperature taken. Then take the left fork up the little slope to the car park.

8 - When you are temperature checked, if your temperature is over 37.5 degrees the Lake Manager will ask you to leave. (Don't worry, you will get a chance to cool down and have another check, if you've been sitting in a hot car!)

9 - When you park your car, please leave plenty of space between your own and other cars.

10 - The changing rooms are closed so you will need to get ready in your car. There is a port-a-loo on site with sanitisers.

11 - Please get everything ready in the car park and then walk your kit down to the flag at the launch point lakeside and check-in with our Instructor. (Watch out for vehicles on the farm track.) He/she will give you a brief safety introduction to the site and invite you to launch. Please do not launch anywhere else other than at the flag.

Please launch from and return to the flag on your knees and also paddle on your knees when you are within 2 board's length from the lake edges, which are shallow.

PLEASE DO NOT JUMP OR DIVE off your paddle board at any time as you could seriously hurt yourself, thank you.

12 - You must wear a leash and you must have third party insurance for your own SUP board (you can join BSUPA to get insurance.)

Any problems, please email or call us on 07597 094233. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

The Government's Covid-19 rules must be followed.

If you need to cancel and want a refund, please give us more than 48 hours notice from the start time of your booked session. (Or 7 days for the BSUPA Level 1 Instructor course.)

Although we hope you don't need to cancel your booking, you can do so at any time up to 48 hours prior the start time of the booked SUP activity and receive a full refund. If you cancel within 48 hours of the start time of the booked SUP activity, or you are very late for or do not attend the booked SUP activity (i.e. a ‘no-show’) you will not receive a refund. If you are booking on the BSUPA Level 1 Instructor course, less than 7 full day’s notice of a cancellation will mean that you won’t get a refund and this clause supersedes any minimum cancellation notice notified elsewhere in the booking process and/or in the terms and conditions. Thanks for your understanding.
