If you don’t have your own board and are wanting to use ours please make sure you add it as an optional external at checkout. Thank you.

Weds 31st Aug is DIY BBQ afterwards. Please bring your own food, drink, plates, cutlery and we will provide the barbecue and cooking utensils. Bug spray too.

You must be a reasonably competent paddler, who can get back onto their SUP board unaided and have your BSUPA Level 1 'Ready to Ride' certificate, or equivalent, to participate in these sessions. If you don't have this certificate, but do have your own SUP board, and consider yourself competent to paddle in these sessions, then please give us a quick call to discuss it before making your booking, on 07597 094233, thank you.

On the day our Instructors will be on hand to keep a safety eye on you as you use the lake. They will provide safety information before you launch and will be happy to give you a little technique/paddling/kit advice, if you ask for it.

Parking across the lane in the fisheries carpark is free for this session.

    Some important safety points:

If it's your first time here with us in 2022, we will ask you to complete some paperwork on arrival.

We will explain about the lake layout and note the hazards/shallow areas. The lake is extremely shallow in places including near the main pontoon (fin depth only). There are some weed/plant patches to please watch out for.

Launching/returning will be done from the main pontoon. Please launch from, and return to, the pontoon/s on your

1 - You must be a competent swimmer and able to swim at least 25m clothed.

2 - You must please bring paddling clothing appropriate for the weather & water temperature, plus a well-fitting Personal Buoyancy Aid and paddling footwear, both of which are mandatory. Please note that we will not let you launch if we consider you to be underdressed for the temperature/conditions or if you don't have the appropriate equipment. You should also bring dry clothes to change into & a sun hat/sun cream/bug spray etc. as necessary.

3 - Please do not bring any valuables to the site as we can't secure them (money, jewellery, posh watches, electronics etc.)

4 - Before you leave home, please cover any cuts & grazes with strong waterproof plasters.

5 - There is a loo on site with hand sanitation facilities.

6 - Unless you are camping on the site, please park in the fisheries car park (next to the Lambton & Jackson building with the red roof) opposite the lake entrance metal gate, which is marked 'campsite'. Walk across the road - please take care, it's on a bend and cars can come around there quickly - to the lake gate, which will remain locked. So please walk through the little wooden entrance hut. Parking space is limited so please park considerately. Thank you.

7 - Please watch out for uneven slippery ground on the site and look out for vehicles on the road and on the site. On arrival, please check-in with our Instructor before launching. He/she will check your name off the list, provide safety information and invite you to launch. Please do not launch anywhere else other than at the main pontoon. Please launch from and return on your knees and also paddle on your knees when you are within 2 board's length from the lake edges, which are shallow or the pontoons. Please do not leave kit lying around in the grass. There will be hand sanitisers available at the a launch flag. Thank you.

8 - You must have third party insurance for your own SUP board (you could join BSUPA to obtain insurance.)

9 - Please don't jump or dive off your SUP board as you could seriously injure yourself.

10 - Please don't share kit with others outside of your household/bubble.

11 - You may bring spectators with you onto the site in your car to watch you paddle. They can walk around the lake using the grass footpath. Any spectator aged 17 years or younger must be supervised at all times by their parent or legal guardian whilst on the site and must be kept away from the lake edges. Sorry but a parent/legal guardian can not paddle themselves and leave their child unsupervised in the van/car or at the site. Dogs are welcome but must kept on their leads at all times.

Sorry there are so many rules! Thank you for your support and understanding to make this activity fun and safe for us all. Any questions, suggestions or problems, please email info@frangipanisup.com or call us on 07597 094233. Thank you for your cooperation.
