Home Water Chigborough Ready to Ride

sup - Up to 4 people

We are delighted to be able to offer SUP sessions at the beautiful Home Water Lake.

There are quite a few important rules and procedures that we all need to follow, especially regarding Covid-19. Here they are:

1 - You must be a competent swimmer and able to swim at least 25m clothed.

2 - Each 11-17yr old must be accompanied and supervised at all times in the session by a parent/legal guardian, on a 1:2:1 basis.

3 - The Government's Covid-19 rules and social distance rules must always be maintained by everyone, although you must accept that in the unlikely event of an emergency, we and possibly others may break the social distance rules to assist you.

4 - You will need to bring all your own clothing and footwear as you will not be able to use ours. We will provide you will a personal buoyancy aid, SUP board, leash and paddle.

Please bring with you:

-A towel, all paddling clothing and footwear. Footwear is mandatory, no bare feet please.

-You will need swimwear, we suggest a summer wetsuit (a shorty wetsuit is fine), as you can get very chilly when you are wet and there is a little breeze, even on a warm day, plus neoprene wet shoes or old trainers. If it is hot, then sports shorts/leggings and a tee-shirt are OK. You and your clothing will get wet! :)

-A small dry bag to carry on the SUP board plus a pen. (One per household/bubble per colour group is fine)

-In the bag you should have a small personal outdoor first aid kit plus personal hand sanitising gel and please be prepared to administer first aid to yourself. (One per household/bubble per colour group is fine)

-Water, any snacks you need, hat/visor*, glasses safety strap*, sun cream* any necessary medications* and bug spray* (*As required by you.)

Please do not bring any valuables (money, jewellery, posh watches, designer sunglasses, electronics etc.) as we can’t be responsible for them.

6 - Before you arrive, please cover any cuts & grazes with strong waterproof plasters.

7 - Unless you are camping on the site, please park in the fisheries car park opposite the lake entrance and walk across the road to the lake gate (which will remain locked). Parking space is limited so please park considerately. Please take care to watch out for vehicles on the road. Thanks.

Meet you at the lake pavilion at your session start time.

Some important safety points:

Please adhere to all Government rules on Covid-19 and maintain social distancing of at least 1m at all times unless with members of your household or bubble, both on and off the water.

Your temperature will be taken on arrival. If it is over 37.5 degrees you will not be permitted into the session (although you can have a retest if you have been sitting in a hot campsite or a hot car!).

Please do not share the SUP kit with anybody outside of your household group/bubble.

If it's your first time here with us in 2020, we will ask you to complete a lake disclaimer form.

We will explain about the lake layout and note the hazards/shallow areas. The lake is extremely shallow in places including near the main pontoon (fin depth only).

Launching/returning will be done from the main pontoon. Please launch from, and return to, the pontoon/s on your knees.

STRICTLY NO JUMPING OR DIVING OFF SUP BOARDS AT ANY TIME as you could seriously hurt yourself.

The lake pavilion will be kept locked but we can open it if you need to use the loo. Please sanitise your hands with gel before you enter the pavilion and use the disinfectant spray in the loo to sanitise door handles and the loo flush etc. plus wash you hands thoroughly. (We will leave various sanitising items on the picnic table near the pavilion door.)

Any spectator aged under 17 year's old must be accompanied and supervised by their parent or legal guardian at all times, and be kept on the footpaths away from the lake edges.)

Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation as we all endeavour to remain Covid-19 alert yet give you access to learn to SUP at this very special watery place. :)

Any problems or questions, please just ask us. Thank you.

If you need to cancel and want a refund, please give us more than 48 hours notice from the start time of your booked session. (Or 7 days for the BSUPA Level 1 Instructor course.)

Although we hope you don't need to cancel your booking, you can do so at any time up to 48 hours prior the start time of the booked SUP activity and receive a full refund. If you cancel within 48 hours of the start time of the booked SUP activity, or you are very late for or do not attend the booked SUP activity (i.e. a ‘no-show’) you will not receive a refund. If you are booking on the BSUPA Level 1 Instructor course, less than 7 full day’s notice of a cancellation will mean that you won’t get a refund and this clause supersedes any minimum cancellation notice notified elsewhere in the booking process and/or in the terms and conditions. Thanks for your understanding.
