BSUPA ‘Ready to Ride’ SUP Group Sessions at Home Water Lake in Chigborough.

Hello! These fantastic BSUPA Level 1 ‘Ready to Ride’ group SUP sessions at Home Water Lake in Chigborough are suitable for those who are completely new to SUP or have SUPed before but have not yet received the BSUPA Level 1 ‘Ready to Ride’ skills/competency certificate. (BSUPA is the British Stand Up Paddle Association.)

You will be using our SUP kit, buoyancy aids & high vis rash vests. You will need to provide all your own clothing & footwear (see details below). If you have one, you can bring your own SUP board.

*Children aged 11yrs-17yrs can participate as long as a parent or legal guardian is booked into the session, paddling with them and supervising them at all times, on a 1:2:1 basis (i.e. one child per parent/legal guardian.) *If you have 2 children & only one parent/legal guardian, please email us or call us on 07597 094233 to discuss before making your booking, thank you. It MUST be their parent or legal guardian paddling with the child, no one else, thank you.

Some important points:

1 - You must be a competent swimmer and able to swim at least 25m clothed.

2 - Each 11-17yr old must be accompanied and supervised at all times in the session by a parent/legal guardian, on a 1:2:1 basis.

3 - The Government's Covid-19 rules and social distance rules must always be maintained by everyone, although you must accept that in the unlikely event of an emergency, we and possibly others may break any applicable social distancing rules to assist you.

4 - You will need to bring all your own clothing and footwear as you will not be able to use ours. We will provide you will a personal buoyancy aid, SUP board, leash and paddle.

Please bring with you:

-A towel, all paddling clothing and footwear. Footwear is mandatory, no bare feet please.

-You will need swimwear, we suggest a summer wetsuit (a shorty wetsuit is fine), as you can get very chilly when you are wet and there is a little breeze, even on a warm day, plus neoprene wet shoes or old trainers. If it is hot, then sports material shorts/leggings and a sports material tee-shirt/long-sleeved top are OK. You and your clothing will get wet! :)

-Water, any snacks you need, hat/visor*, glasses safety strap*, sun cream* any necessary medications* and bug spray* (*As required by you.)

Please do not bring any valuables (money, jewellery, posh watches, designer sunglasses, electronics etc.) as we can’t be responsible for them.

6 - Before you arrive, please cover any cuts & grazes with strong waterproof plasters.

7 - Unless you are camping on the site, please park in the fisheries car park (next to the Lambton & Jackson building with the red roof) opposite the lake entrance metal gate, which is marked 'campsite'. Walk across the road - please take care, it's on a bend and cars can come around there quickly - to the lake gate, which will remain locked. So please walk through the little wooden entrance hut. Parking space is limited so please park considerately. Thank you.

We will meet you at the lake pavilion at your session start time.

8 -The lake pavilion has a loo you can use.

Some important safety points:

Please adhere to all Government Covid-19 rules in force on the date of your booked session.

If it's your first time here with us in 2021, we will ask you to complete some paperwork on arrival.

We will explain about the lake layout and note the hazards/shallow areas. The lake is extremely shallow in places including near the main pontoon (fin depth only).

Launching/returning will be done from the main pontoon. Please launch from, and return to, the pontoon/s on your knees.

STRICTLY NO JUMPING OR DIVING OFF SUP BOARDS AT ANY TIME as you could seriously hurt yourself.

Any spectator aged under 17 year's old must be accompanied and supervised by their parent or legal guardian at all times, and be kept on the footpaths away from the lake edges.

Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation as we endeavour to give you safe yet fun access to this beautiful, private site, to learn to SUP.

Any problems or questions, please just email us Thank you. :)
