BSUPA Ready to Ride Course Chipstead SC

sup - Up to 3 people

These BSUPA ‘Ready to Ride’ group courses are suitable for adults and 11-17yr olds who are completely new to SUP or have SUPed before but have not received the BSUPA ‘Ready to Ride’ skills and competency certificate. (BSUPA is the British Stand Up Paddle Association.)

You will be using all your own SUP equipment, clothing, footwear and Personal Buoyancy Aid. (Please see details in 3 below). 1 x 11-17yr old can attend the session with a paddling parent/legal guardian, who is participating in the session and who is responsible for supervising their child at all times - both on and off the water.

There are quite a few important rules and procedures that we all need to follow, especially regarding Covid-19. Here they are:

1 - You must be a competent swimmer and able to swim at least 25m clothed.

2 - The Government's Covid-19 rules, including those about social distancing must always be maintained by everyone, although you must accept that in the unlikely event of an emergency, we and possibly others may break the social distance rules to assist you.

3 - This is what you must bring with you:

All your OWN SUP equipment, clothing, Personal Buoyancy Aid and footwear as you will not be able to use ours. Personal Buoyancy Aids & footwear are mandatory, no bare feet please.

- We suggest swimwear and a summer wetsuit (a shorty wetsuit is fine), as you can get very chilly when you are wet and there is a little breeze, even on a hot day, plus neoprene wet shoes or old trainers. If it is very hot, then shorts or leggings and a tee-shirt are OK. You and your clothing will get wet! :)

-A small dry bag to carry on the SUP board. (One per household/bubble is fine)

-In the bag you should have a small personal outdoor first aid kit plus personal hand sanitising gel and please be prepared to administer first aid to yourself. (One per household/bubble is fine)

-Water, any snacks you need, hat/visor*, glasses safety strap*, sun cream* any necessary medications* and bug spray* (*As required by you.)

Please do not bring any valuables (money, jewellery, posh watches, designer sunglasses, electronics etc.)

4 - Before you leave home, please cover any cuts & grazes with strong waterproof plasters.

5 - Please meet us lakeside ready to start the session promptly at the start time so that your name can be checked against our booking list and your temperature taken. If your temperature is over 37.5 degrees you will not be able to participate in the session. (Don't worry, you will get a chance to cool down and have another check, if you've been sitting in a hot car!)

You must be able to swim m25m clothed.

If you need to cancel and want a refund, please give us more than 48 hours notice from the start time of your booked session. (Or 7 days for the BSUPA Level 1 Instructor course.)

Although we hope you don't need to cancel your booking, you can do so at any time up to 48 hours prior the start time of the booked SUP activity and receive a full refund. If you cancel within 48 hours of the start time of the booked SUP activity, or you are very late for or do not attend the booked SUP activity (i.e. a ‘no-show’) you will not receive a refund. If you are booking on the BSUPA Level 1 Instructor course, less than 7 full day’s notice of a cancellation will mean that you won’t get a refund and this clause supersedes any minimum cancellation notice notified elsewhere in the booking process and/or in the terms and conditions. Thanks for your understanding.
