Description
The session will take the students on a tour of the local waterways, whilst improving their paddle stroke and control of the board. This will include how to plan a paddle boarding trip, what hazards to look out for and how to pass locks and weirs. All the while keeping safety at the forefront of what we should do as paddle boarders.
Requirements
What to bring
You should have your own board, paddle, leash and ideally buoyancy aid. If not then these can be provided.
No specialist clothing is required. In warm weather, ordinary gym gear will be fine (shorts/leggings/T-shirt/sweatshirt), with old sandals or trainers you don't mind getting wet. Or you can get cheap neoprene wet shoes from most large supermarkets.
In colder weather, a wetsuit or drysuit would be advisory.
Always bring a towel and a change of clothes just in case you go in during the paddle boarding session.
