We run coached paddling sessions for people who would like to progress through the new British Canoeing Personal Performance Awards. These generally take the form of a supervised group paddle either upstream to the bridge or downstream to Elsing Mill. Coaching towards Discover (for beginners) and Explore (for improvers) awards will be given during these trips. These can be booked as a block or on a per session basis.
The awards are now the same for both adults and children but we will run a separate group for under 14’s on Thursdays as we feel they tend to learn in a different way from most adults.
River session, 2 hours, currently not coached until restrictions are lifted further.
This is for a single kayak with all the kit and is charged per person. Should you wish to have an open boat, just some kit or bring your own, please select the appropriate add-on. There is no charge if you use your own boat and kit.
YOU MUST BE A MEMBER TO ATTEND RIVER SESSIONS. TEMPORARY MEMBERSHIP IS AVAILABLE FOR GUESTS (at a cost of £5 to cover insurance).
Please wear clothing appropriate to the weather conditions. For Summer paddling, wetsuit or t-shirt and trainers/shoes. Avoid cotton clothing as this will absorb water.
Notice prior to activity cancellation and refund credit towards future activities
If you should need to cancel, please notify us with as much notice as possible prior to the activity either via the website, Facebook group or email.
If payment was taken, a credit note will be provided for use towards a future activity, booked via Eola.
