Private: Group SUP booking

sup - Up to 12 people

Join one of our guided stand-up paddleboard (SUP) lessons/tours around Port Gaverne and Port Isaac, enjoying a unique view of this beautiful stretch of coastline. We’ll provide full instruction (catering for complete beginners through to seasoned paddlers) and visit otherwise inaccessible rock-gardens, coves and caves, keeping an eye out for some of the marine life that visits our shores as we share this unspoilt environment with you.

Cornish Rock Tors’ guided SUP trips offer a great introduction to this enormously popular and very accessible activity, allowing you to learn the basics on calm water in the shelter of Port Gaverne Cove before we take you on a guided paddle to put your new skills to practice. Even if this is your first time having a go at stand-up paddling you’ll develop the skills and confidence to explore the coastline with us and venture beyond shin-deep water. This stretch of coastline is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and (depending upon conditions) there is the option of paddling the short distance around to the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac. We’ll paddle beneath high cliffs, explore rocky gullys and coves, and can even paddle into some of the large sea caves in the area. There are plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife from the vantage point of your paddleboard, from seals and jellyfish to a variety of seabirds.

We use state of the art 10’8” inflatable SUPs from a leading British brand, and they are incredibly stable and easy to use. Absolutely no previous paddling experience is required, as your instructor will introduce you to the board and all of the basic paddle-strokes that you will need to get you on your way.

Participants must be eight years old or over and competent swimmers (i.e. be able to swim 25M in a pool unaided), although we can accommodate younger children if accompanied by a parent and subject to conditions and availability. We ask that preferably children under 14 years old are accompanied by an adult however this is only a recommendation and not essential.

What to bring

Please note - we don’t have any changing facilities, therefore you will be getting changed on the beach so please bring a changing robe or large towel.

Stand Up Paddleboarding can be a very physical activity and we have to express to all participants that they need to be able to swim at least 25mtrs unaided as well as being comfortable with physical exertion in restrictive water sports equipment for a duration of approximately 2 hours.

Rigid: Guaranteed full refund if cancelling 5 days prior.

You will be entitled to a full refund under the following circumstances:

  • If your booking is under £200 and you cancelled at least a full 72h prior to the activity start time.
  • If your booking is over £200 and you cancelled at least a full 5 days prior to the activity start time.
  • If the centre cancels the activity at any time.

If the conditions on the day aren’t ideal but the activity still takes place, you will not be eligible for a refund.
