Intermediate Coasteering

coasteer - Up to 12 people

Aimed at adventurous, able adults or confident teenagers who have completed the introduction session, Intermediate Coasteering is the perfect activity for those looking for a unique and memorable coastal experience. This activity will provide more physical and mental challenges as we guide you along a stunning stretch of wild coastline, and will be sure to provide some adrenaline fuelled adventure!

You’ll spend two hours exploring an awe-inspiring stretch of sheer cliffs, interspersed with coves and caves. We’ll traverse swell-swept ledges, swim through wave gullies and across open stretches of water and climb up progressively higher ledge systems to launch ourselves off some spectacular jumps along the way.

Cornish Rock Tors’ Intermediate Coasteering session is our most popular and highly acclaimed activity. It provides an exhilarating challenge for all – even seasoned coasteerers. Our primary venue for intermediate coasteering is Port Gaverne (neighbouring Port Isaac), however we have a number of alternative locations to allow us to make the most of the sea and weather conditions.

Participants must be 10 years old or over and competent swimmers (i.e. be able to swim 50M in a pool unaided), although we can accommodate younger children if accompanied by a parent and subject to conditions and availability. We ask that preferably children under 14 years old are accompanied by an adult however this is only a recommendation and not essential.

Intermediate Coasteering costs £45 per person and includes the use of all necessary equipment, including a warm 5mm wetsuit, thick-soled wetsuit boots, a buoyancy aid and a helmet. All you need to bring is a towel and swimwear.

What to bring

Please note - we don’t have any changing facilities, therefore you will be getting changed on the beach so please bring a changing robe or large towel.

Physical requirements

Coasteering can be a very physical activity and we have to express to all participants that they need to be able to swim at least 50mtrs unaided as well as being comfortable with physical exertion in restrictive water sports equipment for a duration of approximately 2 hours.

Rigid: Guaranteed full refund if cancelling 5 days prior.

You will be entitled to a full refund under the following circumstances:

  • If your booking is under £200 and you cancelled at least a full 72h prior to the activity start time.
  • If your booking is over £200 and you cancelled at least a full 5 days prior to the activity start time.
  • If the centre cancels the activity at any time.

If the conditions on the day aren’t ideal but the activity still takes place, you will not be eligible for a refund.
