I booked a lesson with my sister and had a really fun afternoon. I’d definitely recommend to others for a lovely way to spend some time in Richmond and potentially a brand new hobby!

We had an absolute lovely time with Sheena for our 2h paddle boarding experience in Richmond on the river Thames! The scenery was beautiful, offering to see Richmond from a different perspective, and entering a much wilder space upstream feeling hundreds of miles away from the city! Sheena was extra patient, made us feel comfortable and was very helpful giving us simple tips and guidance about techniques and flow direction! Thanks again so much Sheena ☺️

<li data-list="bullet">The passholder must have prior paddleboard or kayaking experience, either demonstrable through paddling with Paddle Richmond, a BSUPA Ready to Ride certificate, a Thames Skills 1 certificate, or through demonstration of equivalent skills</li>
<li data-list="bullet">In practical terms, we expect you to be able to competently stand-up, steer, stop and turn on a SUP, as well as self-rescue - and in a kayak to show similar levels of competence.</li>

Over the 5 sessions your coach will help you work on your technique, allowing you to develop an efficient paddle stroke. You will also work on river awareness and positioning, helping you to feel confident out on the water, and preparing you for further qualifications such as our River Skills and Navigation Course.Alternatively, you may just want to work on your skills before hitting the beach on your summer holidays.
