Take on the UK's only Full & Half SUP Marathon
Once again we're celebrating the Midsomer with an epic SUP challenge. Take on the full 26.2 miles or a cheeky half marathon at our SUP Club home on Farmoor Reservoir. You've got all day to complete the challenge, so take it at your own pace. It's 20 laps of the Reservoir for the full Marathon, and 10 laps for the half. Refreshments will be plentiful in the Club HQ throughout the day.
This event is aimed at Intermediate to Advanced SUP paddlers.
You'll need to be fit, have mastered the basics of SUP, and have been paddling independently for a while.
This is a tough challenge, but we'll be supporting you throughout the day.
Biodiversity and invasive non-native species policy: As users of Thames Water's Farmoor Reservoir facility we have a responsibility to do our part in taking care of the biosecurity of the site.
If you are bringing your own board to use on Farmoor Reservoir it is your responsibility to ensure you have thoroughly cleaned it before you arrive. We have facilities on site for you to clean your board before and after using the water. Please help us to keep our environment safe by abiding by this policy.
You'll need to bring a pair of trainers or water-sports shoes to wear on your feet, along with your swimwear and a towel.
We can provide wetsuits and buoyancy aids if you need them.
During the warmer months of summer you can wear shorts & t-shirts.
Ideally you'll have your own board and would and bring it along with you.
Likewise if you want to use your own wetsuit or PFD, please bring it with you.
If you don't have your own equipment please get in contact as we have boards available to hire at £15 each.
Please arrive in plenty of time for the event briefing which will start promptly at 9.00am.
You'll need to be kitted up and ready to go so that we can start paddling by 9.30am.
You've got all day, until 6.00pm, to complete the challenge at your own pace.
You can take as many breaks as you want throughout the event, and we'll have snacks and drinks available in SUP Club HQ, and on the waters edge.
You can pre-book lunch which we'll then provide for you, which will be delicious homemade rolls, fruit and snacks. We are happy to cater for any dietary requirements.
