RYA Windsurfing Stage 1

The RYA Youth Windsurfing Stage 1 Course is designed for complete beginners and covers the basics of windsurfing.

These courses are a great way to start your windsurfing journey and learn the essential skills needed to sail safely and confidently on the water.

Join our experienced instructors on the water and learn about:

1. Rigging
2. Launching
3. Starting techniques
4. Stance
5. Manoeuvres

At SWSA we believe that water sports are for everyone. We provide all the equipment, including wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets (if required).

1. Minimum age is 8.
2. Maximum age is 16.
3. Being confident in the water is essential.

We provide all the equipment required to take part in the activity, however you will need:

1. Swimwear for under the wetsuit
2. Footwear - an old pair of trainers or water shoes (this is a MUST)
3. A towel for afterwards.
4. As this is a full day course, please bring a packed lunch, drink and snacks to keep you fueled for the day. You will have access to drinking water if needed.

After being greeted by the team you will get changed and go through a safety briefing.

Soon you will be on the water on a surf board and experience the sport.

Throughout the course, you will receive expert, personal feedback and coaching.

At the end of the course, you will receive the RYA Stage 1 Certificate

Our instructors will give you advice on the next steps and progression options for windsurfing.
