Holy Isle Snorkelling Boat Trip

Join us on a brand new COAST adventure as we take you across Lamlash Bay to Holy Isle, where unique snorkelling opportunities await!

Designed for intermediate snorkellers and guided by two qualified snorkel instructors, our snorkelling boat trip will give you the chance to swim among the sandy kelp forests that can be found in Holy Isles quiet bays. Get a rarely seen view of this stunning underwater world, right in the heart of the South Arran Marine Protected Area. Each session will last up to three hours, with around one hour total of snorkelling.

Please meet us at Lamlash Pier. All equipment can be provided and is included in the price, although clients who have their own gear are welcome to use it (Wetsuits must be 5mm thick and hoods must be worn. Due to safety issues we do not allow the use of full-face snorkel masks).

Please ensure to fill out the gear questionnaire before attending if you do need to borrow equipment. There is space on board the boat to change.

Participants must have completed at least 2 - 3 cold water snorkels and be able to swim 100m unaided.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

* If the event is cancelled due to unfavourable weather (at the instructors discretion) or unforeseen circumstances, we will where possible reschedule to another event. Alternatively, you will be entitled to a full refund.

* If you are unable to attend the event, we will offer a full refund if the cancellation is made no later than 3 days before the date of the event.

* Any cancellation made within 3 days of the event date will not be eligible for a refund.

* The instructors reserve the right to refuse participation in the event if they suspect client(s) are under the influence of alcohol/drugs - in this instance the session would be non-refundable.

Snorkelling in open water is an activity which requires general physical fitness and good health. You/your child should not take part in this activity if you/they have a history of diabetes, epilepsy (blackouts), perforated eardrums, high blood pressure, any lung or respiratory disorder. Anyone wishing to take part in a snorkelling session with COAST must complete a medical declaration. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, the declaration must be completed and signed by a parent/guardian who is aware of the child’s health history. Remember: the applicant is the one at risk if a false declaration is made.

PLEASE NOTE: You are required to complete the booking form and medical declaration at time of booking. Each form must be completed by each participant.

1. Minimum age of 16 years old to participate.
2. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult who must also be snorkelling.
3. This is for intermediate snorkellers with at least 2 - 3 snorkels in cold water
4. No alcohol is to be consumed on the day of the session.
5. Participants must be able to swim 100m unaided
6. Access onto the boat from the water is via a ladder, so participants must be fit enough to comfortably use this equipment.

You will need to bring with you on the day:

1. Swimming shorts/costume (if you can arrive wearing it, even better).
2. Rash vest (if you have one) or long-sleeved top (for extra warmth).
3. Towel.
4. Warm, dry clothing for afterwards, including a woolly hat.
5. Snacks and a drink.
6. Any medication you may require.
7. Anything else you would normally bring with you eg. sunscreen.
8. All other snorkelling equipment can be provided.
9. You may bring your own kit, but wetsuits need to be at least 5mm and hoods must be worn.
