Our journeys are fun, informative, and relaxing, giving you the chance to explore local history, spot wildlife, and learn about the environment. As an added bonus, you’ll even get the chance to take the helm and try your hand at driving the boat!

These trips are subsidised to make them affordable, and every adventure includes a warm cuppa on board. Come aboard Freedom Boat Adventures and enjoy an amazing journey that’s good for your health, wellbeing, and spirit – all while making new friends along the way.

Passengers should be comfortable being on board a boat for a minimum of 2 hours

Booking confirmation or tickets – Printed or digital.

Water bottle – Stay hydrated, especially in warm weather.

Sunscreen – Apply before boarding and bring extra.

Sunglasses – To reduce glare from the water.

Hat or cap – For shade while on deck.

Comfortable clothing – Light layers; a jacket in case it gets windy or cool. Waterproof coat and trousers if weather looking wet.

Camera or phone – For taking photos. Consider a waterproof pouch or dry bag.

Motion sickness medication – Just in case, even for calm waters.

Any medications you may need for the two hours trip.

You will be met at your booking time at the top of the jetty in West Mersea.

Life jackets will be fitted and you will be shown to the boat and boarding will begin.

We will depart Mersea waterfront and head out onto the River Blackwater where we will look at the local wild life and learn a little bit about the history of the area.

The crew will make you a nice cuppa after an hour and some cake (dietary details will be available)

Then we will head to our pot and grab hot to see what's living under the weaves.

Then we gently return to the harbour where we will take time for you to chat and get ready to depart Rozmaur our lovely boat.
