A trip through the moorings taking in all the wonderful boats and wildlife that thrives in this wonderful part of Essex. The River Blackwater opens up as we leave the creeks behind allowing for a little more power as we head up towards Maldon. The colossus building of the former Bradwell Power Station now laying as a monument to British nuclear power. Next, we find ourselves heading towards the Radio Ship Caroline with its rich history of sending music to the masses. Finally, we head to the intriguing island that lays off the Essex Coast called Osea with its rich history.Then back to the calm of the creeks around Mersea Island and its harbour but not before a chance to drive the Catamaran giving all the passengers a thrill and a set of new skills. Booking confirmation or tickets – Printed or digital.

Water bottle – Stay hydrated, especially in warm weather.

Sunscreen – Apply before boarding and bring extra.

Sunglasses – To reduce glare from the water.

Hat or cap – For shade while on deck.

Comfortable clothing – Light layers; a jacket in case it gets windy or cool. Waterproof coat and trousers if weather looking wet.

Camera or phone – For taking photos. Consider a waterproof pouch or dry bag.

Motion sickness medication – Just in case, even for calm waters.

This journey onto the River Blackwater will include a slow boat ride through the moorings with some local history and some activities on board with our volunteer crew.

We then head South West towards Maldon where the river opens up and we get a chance to see other shore side villages while we head to Osea Island with its rich history.

We then turn easterly and go visit the large radio ship Ross Revenge home of radio Caroline.

We then open up the power and get some of you to drive while we head to the stark former nuclear power station at Bardwell on Sea.

We then head back to Port with some more on board activities.
