Orkney Explore by Sea Kayak

Orkney offers a plethora of islands and stunning coastlines to explore.

Based on Orkney Mainland we will aim to explore numerous islands, the plentiful rugged coastlines, sampling areas with tideraces, swell and shelter.

We will make the most of the conditions and tailor the programme to your interest and ability.

Not included: travel to venue, accommodation, food.

As a minimum you will need to be comfortable controlling your sea kayak in winds of Beaufort Force 4.

You will have recently practised capsizing a kayak outdoors wearing a spraydeck and can get back into your kayak effectively with assistance. You may have started to learn to roll but this is not essential.

You will need to take your own sea kayak and personal kayaking equipment including helmet. (If there's something you need contact me well in advance to arrange this.)

We will meet up on the Monday late afternoon/evening to make a plan for the rest of the week.

We will tailor each day to your needs finding an appropriate location to stop for breaks/lunch.
