Seabed Explorer Boat Trip

Arran's No Take Zone was established in 2008 and the South Arran Marine Protected Area (MPA) was protected in 2016. Join us on an exploration survey that will allow you to see the seabed like never before - without getting wet! This seabed survey will take you out into the MPA to enjoy Arran's seas and views, and then use state-of-the-art technology to help us explore the seabed up to 80 metres deep. This is a more in-depth survey than our Sea Science Trip where we aim to show you more of the real wonders of our seas around Arran.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:

1. If the event is cancelled by COAST due to weather or unforeseen circumstances (eg technical issues), we aim, where possible, to notify you the day before the activity. Where possible, we will reschedule you to another event. Alternatively, you will be entitled to a full refund if you wish.
2. If you are unable to attend the event, we will offer a full refund if the cancellation is made no later than 48hours before the date of the event.
3. Any cancellation made within 48 hours of the event date will not be eligible for a refund.

Important Information:

1. Children must be at least 6 years old or weigh over 20kg to participate.
2. Adults may accompany no more than 3 children.
3. All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
4. Dress appropriately for the weather and bring sun cream if necessary.
5. Toilet facilities are available onboard.
6. Please bring your own snacks and water as food and freshwater are not provided.

Please bring warm clothing and waterproofs if rain is expected.

Meet at the COAST Discovery Centre to sign in. A short walk down to Lamlash Pier to meet RV COAST Explorer. We will step aboard the vessel and be out on the water for up to 2.5 hours. You will be dropped back to Lamlash Pier.
