Calling all Witches, Warlocks, ghosts and Ghouls!

Join PaddleSUP Company for a spooktacular autumn adventure along one of the most beautiful stretches of the Basingstoke Canal!

Dust off your witch's hat, dig out your Halloween costume (or simply come as you are!) and join us for a relaxed, sociable paddle combining stunning autumn scenery, wildlife spotting, hidden waterways and a well-earned pub stop.

Fancy dress is encouraged, but absolutely not essential! Whether you're dressed as a ghost, ghoul or just your fabulous self, everyone is welcome.

We'll launch from Mytchett Canal Centre, where there's free parking, a small shop offering some refreshments and toilets, before setting off along approximately 2.5km of beautiful, tree-lined canal towards The Swan at Ash Vale.

This stretch of the Basingstoke Canal is particularly magical in autumn, with spectacular displays of golden, amber and fiery red leaves reflecting off the peaceful water.

Along the way, we'll explore some of the canal's unique "flashes" – fascinating areas where the waterway opens out into small, lake-like expanses. Keep your eyes peeled for sunken boats, resident birds and an abundance of wildlife hiding amongst the reeds.

At our halfway point, we'll stop at The Swan pub for a well-deserved break, refreshments and a chance to catch up with your fellow paddlers before making our way back along the canal to our starting point.

And who knows... perhaps we'll encounter a few spooky surprises along the way! 👻

Solo Paddlers very welcome - Your future friends are waiting for you!

This tour is perfect for paddlers who have already had a lesson or are self taught and are comfortable paddling independently over a 5km distance at a relaxed group pace.

You don't need to be an expert – just have some previous experience, a sense of adventure and a willingness to embrace the autumn magic! If you feel the need to kneel or sit down paddle at any point feel free!

All craft welcome, but you'll need to bring your own kayak
