Champagne Charter

Description

Champagne Charters, 90 minute cruise, maximum 12 people, well behaved dogs allowed. 2 bottles of Champagne and nibbles included. Sit back with a glass of bubbly as you embark on a traditional Cornish boat trip along the stunning Helford River with Helford River Cruises with an exclusive Champagne Charter. This 90-minute riverboat adventure starts from the private quay at the Budock Vean Hotel, where you’ll board a charming 19ft Cygnus motorboat.

The Helford River is no ordinary river—it is a ria, a flooded valley formed over 10,000 years ago after the last Ice Age when the sea flooded the valley. Over 2,000 years of maritime history have shaped this river, and because it’s saltwater, the Helford is home to a remarkable variety of marine life and sea birds. The serene surroundings of the Helford River, with its calm waters and dramatic landscapes, are a true haven for nature lovers. As you paddle, you’ll be surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), brimming with wildlife and history.

As you cruise along the tranquil waters of the Helford River, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of quaint villages, the iconic Trebah Gardens, secluded beaches, awe-inspiring geological formations and ancient oak woodland. The journey also takes you through the magical creeks, including the famous Frenchman’s Creek, famously featured in Daphne Du Maurier’s novel.

  1. Scenic Views: Explore the natural beauty of the Helford River, with its lush surroundings, delightful creeks and picturesque villages.
  2. Rich History & Geology: Discover fascinating stories about the river’s history and the remarkable geology that shapes this unique area.
  3. Frenchman’s Creek: Visit the iconic creek immortalized in Daphne Du Maurier’s Frenchman’s Creek.

Ready to experience the Helford River from a traditional Cornish boat? Book your river cruise today and enjoy a relaxing, scenic journey through one of Cornwall’s most beautiful rivers.

Requirements

None, just to arrive in good time board. It takes about 10 minutes to stroll down through the Budock Vean Hotel gardens and traffic can be busier in Cornwall in the holidays so leave in good time and arrive at least 20 minutes beforehand. Toilet available at the foreshore.

What to bring

Bring a warm jumper just in case as it can feel cooler on the water, suntan cream if it’s sunny, binoculars and camera to spot the wildlife and beautiful sailing boats.

Itinerary

Walk down through the hotel gardens, allow at least 10 minutes for this. Toilet at the foreshore if required before you board. Board the boat, enjoy an hour and half cruising along the Helford River and creeks including Frenchman’s Creek, arrive back at the private cove at Budock Vean Hotel. Walk up through the gardens to the hotel or carpark.
