This is an unguided experience. There will not be a lifeguard present and if you choose to enter the water then you do so at your own risk
š„¶COLD WATERš„¶
The North sea is cold and can drop to as low as 6Ā°C, if you are not adapted to the cold water then it may come as quite a shock when you first enter the water. Feel free to ask your guide any questions and never stay in the water longer than what you are comfortable with. Always wear a wetsuit unless you are an experienced cold water swimmer/dooker
š„SAUNA RULES AND ETIQUETTEš„
- All persons using the sauna do so at their own risk.
If you have any reservations regarding sauna use, it is essential that you consult your GP before making a booking.
- All persons using the sea as a 'cold plunge' do so at their own risk.
It is your own responsibility to ensure that you are a capable swimmer and can handle being exposed to the cold temperatures and varying conditions of the sea.
- Alcohol and nudity are not permitted in the sauna.
Arbroath Cliff Tours Ltd reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons.
- Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the sauna.
If you are aged 16-17, you must be accompanied by an adult (with a 1:1 adult-to-child ratio)
- Any hanging jewellery should be removed before entering the sauna to prevent burning
- Any glasses or contact lenses should be removed before entering the sauna to avoid any damage to coatings and to prevent contact lenses from drying out.
- You must not use the sauna if you:
- suffer from high or low blood pressure or any heart or circulatory disorder or suffer from epilepsy or diabetes;
- are pregnant; or
- are prone to dizziness or fainting.
- Sauna etiquette must be adhered to at all times. This includes;
- Sitting on a towel at all times
- Staying in the sauna for no longer than 20 min at a time (we recommend 10-15 min sessions)
- Gently pouring water onto the sauna stove; drizzle, don't dump water
- Only pouring the provided 'sauna water' on hot rocks and nothing else
If you are making this booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to make your group aware of the terms and conditions and to practice safe sauna use.
Arbroath Cliff Tours Ltd operators reserve the right to refuse entry, cut short, or cancel sessions for any reason that may be deemed a health and safety risk, if there are concerns about risky behaviour, or if any of the above rules are not followed. Refunds will not be offered to anyone refused admission.

This experience has some physical requirements due to the Heat and Cold. Please always consult your GP before taking part and always stay within your comfort zone.

There must be a ratio of 1 parent per 1 child.
Parents are fully responsible for under 18s. Our guides will of course look after you but please make sure you pay extra attention to your child to ensure your child's safety.
