If you’ve never flown kites hooked into a harness before and want to progress to riding on the board this is a great course .
Duration : 3 x 2 hr one to one sessions or 3 x 4 hr sessions if booked with a friend , can be non consecutive days if required.
Qualification : Level 1 , parts 1 – 4 and Level 2 parts 1 and 2 BKSA card
Description : It’s adrenaline filled , and takes you from learning to fly the kite on day one , bodydragging in the water on day two and your first board rides by day three !!
AIM –by the end of day 1 we aim to to help you reach a level where you can :
Day 1
- UNDERSTAND AND RIG UP A KITE
- A BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF .H.O.E. – SITE , HAZARDS ,OTHERS AND ENVIRONMENT
- DO A SITE ASSESSMENT AND KNOW ABOUT KITE SAFETY FEATURES
- UNDERSTAND HOW TO LAUNCH AND LAND KITES
- CONTROL KITES USING A BAR AND FLY THEM THROUGH THE WIND WINDOW
- FLY A KITE THROUGH THE POWER ZONE AND FEEL THE ADRENALINE RUSH !!
- FLY 2 LINE KITES PROGRESSING TO FOUR LINE KITES USING A HARNESS
- USE BUDDY COMMUNICATION SIGNALS
Day 2
AIM –by the end of day 2 we aim to help you reach a level where you can :
- SITE ASSESS ,KNOW ABOUT TIDES , HAZARDS AND THE WIND WINDOW
- SET UP A KITE AND DO PRE FLIGHT CHECKS
- USE LAUNCH AND LAND TECHNIQUES
- DO AN EMERGENCY PACK DOWN PROCEDURE
- USE WATER SAFETY SIGNALS
- BODY DRAG DOWNWIND
- BODY DRAG CROSSNWIND
- BODY DRAG UPWIND
- RELAUNCH TECHNIQUES
Day 3
AIM –by the end of the session we aim to to help you reach a level where you can :
- UNDERSTAND WATERSTART THEORY
- BALANCE DRAG
- LOAD AND LAUNCH
- COME UP AND RIDE SHORT DISTANCES
- UNDERSTAND RIGHTS OF WAY
- EDGE THE BOARD WHILE RIDING
Next step : More board start tuition or buy some kit from us at great prices and come and practice in our teaching zone . We also have our unique buddy up programme on whats app for students to practice with other beginners .
- We supply all the technical kit needed for the lessons including top of the range 2018 kitesurf kit from F- one and Ozone, really warm winter wetsuits for all our students and use state of the art BB Talkin two way headsets for safe and fast progression.
- What to bring day one : , warm clothing , wet weather gear , sturdy footwear , sunglasses , suncream , water and snacks .
- What to bring day two and three , 3mm wetsuit boots , sunglasses with a strap , suncream , water and snacks .
- Other information : theres ample parking for only £1.50 per day , public toilets and a variety of eateries for snacks and meals within walking distance for spectators .
