RYA Windsurfing Stage 2

Once you have gained the essential skills to sail safely and confidently on the water, you are ready to develop your practical skills needed to windsurf a course. Your instructor will help you develop your tacks and gybes, building confidence on all points of sail.

All fun no theory. Get on the water and develop your windsurfing skills.

At SWSA we believe that water sports are for everyone. We provide all the equipment, including wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets (if required).

1. Minimum age is 8.
2. Maximum age is 16.
3. Being confident in the water is essential.
4. Windsurfing skills to the standard of RYA Youth Windsurfing Stage 1

We provide all the equipment required to take part in the activity, however you will need:

1. Swimwear for under the wetsuit
2. Footwear - an old pair of trainers or water shoes (this is a MUST)
3. A towel for afterwards.
4. As this is a full day course, please bring a packed lunch, drink and snacks to keep you fuelled for the day. You will have access to drinking water if needed.

After being greeted by the team you will get changed and go through a safety briefing.

Soon you will be on the water on a surf board and experience the sport.

Throughout the course, you will receive expert, personal feedback and coaching.

At the end of the course, you will receive the RYA Stage 2 Certificate

Our instructors will give you advice on the next steps and progression options for windsurfing.
