90 minute or 2 hour Island Adventure

Inchcailloch or Inchmurrin?

The mystical Island of Inchcailloch is part of the Loch Lomond National Nature Reserve and steeped in local history and tradition. One of the most popular islands on the loch due to its outstanding natural beauty, the island is often described as the jewel in Loch Lomond’s crown. Our 90 minute tour allows plenty of time for a tour of the loch, followed by a short stop to explore the beach and forest walks. If you’d like to visit the ancient church ruins and clan burial ground, or walk up the hill for breathtaking panoramic views of the Highlands, we would recommend the 2 hour option.

Your second option is Inchmurrin, the largest of Loch Lomond’s Islands. Home to the Scott family for almost 100 years who, alongside their traditional family farm, run a charming pub and restaurant. It’s the perfect setting to enjoy a local beer or a dram of Loch Lomond whisky whilst admiring the magnificent loch views. If it’s a short stop for a drink you’re after, the 90 minute tour is ideal. If you’d rather take your time and perhaps enjoy a light bite from the islands kitchen we would recommend opting for a 2 hour experience.

3 hour Island Hopping Adventure

We always say on this tour “There is no bad option, they’re both just different.” but if you really can’t choose between them then not to worry. Our 3 hour Island Hopping Tour combines a tour of the loch with a visit to both Inchcailloch and Inchmurrin, giving you a true flavour of all Loch Lomond has to offer.

Please note that the maximum capacity of the boat is 8 people regardless of age.

The pub on Inchmurrin Island is open from 1st April - 31st September 7 days a week from 12pm. Occasionally they close for private functions so it can be wise to check in advance.

BOOKING NOTE: please make sure you put a 1 in the box saying number of speedboats or the calendar will show no availability.

There is a short walk of about 2 minutes from the car park to the jetty. Parking at Portnellan is free of charge.

Participants must be able to step from the jetty down onto the boat. The step can range from about 30cm to 1m depending on loch level. There is a short ladder if the water level is low.

Please remember to bring warm and waterproof clothing and appropriate footwear such as walking boots or trainers.
