Quiet Hour WEEKEND Climbing

These sessions have been specially created for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We want all children and adults to enjoy our facilities.

These sessions will offer a quieter hour, with more support.

There will be limited spaces available, so the arena doesn’t have too many in at once.

Experience climbing like never before with Active Nation Birchwood!

Each wall is designed and themed differently, with a variety of difficulties for the ultimate challenge.

The great thing is that no experience is needed at all, we’ll get you safely strapped into the harness and it’s go go go as you race to the top and complete the challenges.

Our climbing adventures are 1hr in length and include a full safety briefing and harness fitting.

The minimum age to take part in Apex climbing is 4 years old. All participants under 18 years of age will need a completed parental consent.

The minimum age to take part in Apex climbing is 4 years old. All participants under 18 years of age will need a completed parental consent which will be sent in advance via email.

Please wear comfortable clothes that allow free movement (if in doubt, a t-shirt and tracksuit, shorts, or leggings is a good place to start). For safety reasons no open-toed shoes, flip flips, crocs or heels are allowed. Long hair should be tied back.

Each session is 1 hour in length, during this time you will receive your safety briefing, be kitted up with your safety harness.

Please arrive at reception 5 minutes before your booking. Your instructor will run through a full safety briefing before getting kitted up with your harness. Once harnessed, the instructor will ask you to complete an initial small climb on one of the walls and descent from a low height on the wall to get used to our descender devices (auto belay). Then you are ready to challenge yourself to scale many walls throughout your session.
