Shetland Delights

Shetland is at the top of my paddling bucket list! Out of this world with cliffs, islands, birdlife galore. ( I know the page says Orkney but can't seem to adjust this.)

A plethora of different coastlines and islands to explore... stacks, tunnels, caves, caves, caves.

I'm teaming up again with Anita Daimond from Anglesey, we've worked together now for eight years. In addition to coaching and paddling experience, Anita brings an abundance knowledge on wildlife and environment.

We will tailor the days to your needs and aspirations to make the most of the conditions.

Key points:

1. 4 days paddling - between Tues 28th - Friday 31tst July 2026
2. Planning for one overnight camp if weather allows
3. Suitable for paddlers confident in F3/4, 1m swell
4. Voxter / Mainland based - accommodation cost not included but I am booking the centre
5. Fully-supported by two Advanced Sea Coaches
6. Perfect for post-symposium paddling
7. Not included: travel to venue, accommodation, food

FYI I may bring a trailer and so will spread the increased costs across the group - ferry and fuel.

Suitable for intermediate paddlers - Shetland is subject to winds and swell.

4. Maps for Shetland (optional) OS 1, 2, 3, 4 as Anita and I will have them.

Paddling plans will be made daily depending on weather and tides and we aim to explore several islands and tidal areas.
