Learn all you need to know in this outdoor Beginners Lesson
Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone to learn all they need to know to become a more confident paddler or learn from scratch if you have never done it before and just wanted to give it a go or had a little go and want to improve.
This is a small intimate group of just 4/5 participants so each person gets a more enriched experience for beginners.
This will include use of a board and buoyancy aid or you can bring your own if you have one no problem.
In April May and September you will probably need a wetsuit if you are a cold person in general. Please message us before booking so we can explain more. You can use your own or you can hire one from the water sports center at the venue for an additional cost. These don't come as a part of the package.
The cost also includes the costs of using the reservoir itself and insurance.
We do want to make sure we teach you how to self rescue if you fall in as falling in is all a part of the fun, if the weather and water is really cold we will do this at the end of the lesson (unless you fall in during it ;-) ) instead of at the start.
Due to the wind being a large part of being able to paddleboard well ,some beginners sessions maybe postponed at the last minute or on the day at the venue but we will try and give as much notice as possible and will happily re book for another day or give a voucher to be used at another time. We want you to enjoy your experience.
Summer is getting busier so book in advance to get the dates you want.
Children must have a parent or adult on the lesson with them as there maybe others in the group and this is a lesson not just a hire session.
We also specialise in self rescue so if this is something you struggle with then we can help.
NEW this year we are able to teach people with any mobility issues as we have a new adaptive seat so please do message if this may help you.
Lessons are £40 per person.
What to bring
During the Autumn and winter and Spring You will need a wet suit or hire one at the centre, this can be done on the day. In September it is optional for you to make that decision. Footwear for in the water and on the board which will keep your feet warm if possible.
Bring a hot/cold drink that you can take out on the board as we will have a break to relax during the lesson.
Sunscreen is hugely important on those rare hot days ;-)
Don't forget your smile and sense of fun ;-)
