Gecko Surf School

I had a really good time at this surf school. The place has a super friendly atmosphere and from the first day I felt welcome. The staff is nice the organisation is clear and the equipment is in very good condition. The location is perfect for learning because the beach has waves that work for both beginners and people who already know how to surf. Every day felt relaxed and fun and the school creates a good vibe for everyone.
Marco was my instructor and he made the experience even better. He is kind funny and always ready to help. His way of teaching is simple and easy to follow and he really cares about your progress. With him you never feel stressed and the lessons feel natural. He gives good tips and pays attention to every detail so you can improve fast while still enjoying the session.
What I liked the most about the school is how chilled and positive everything is. The team works well together and you can see they enjoy what they do. The classes start on time the boards and wetsuits are good quality and the beach is just a few minutes away.
I really recommend this surf school if you want to learn surf or get better. The place is great and Marco is an amazing instructor who makes every session fun and useful. I am very happy with my experience and I will definitely come back.

My friend and I have tried surfing for the first time and we’re glad we picked Gecko for our first experience. There are a lot of surfing schools with outstanding reviews so I believe they are also good. But we chose this one and we’re satisfied with our decision. The staff was cool and nice. That day current was pretty strong and waves were high, so we were scared 😅. But safety instructions and quick training calmed us down. We had a great session and have fallen in love with surfing. I recommend this surfing school.

My boyfriend and me had today a semiprivate training with Marco. It was the first time surfing for the both of us & we had alot of fun! Marco had a very calming and fun vibe, which made it very easy for me to overcome the fear i had beforehand.
He was also paying attention to details of how you move so you could improve quicker. My boyfriend did really well so he made sure hes getting challenged abit with a different board which was very attentive. we loved it there and would recommend it very much! :)

We had a fantastic experience at this surf school near Lisbon! My kids took a two-hour lesson with instructor Dario and they absolutely loved it. He was super friendly, patient, and made them feel safe and confident in the water. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, the equipment was great, and everything was really well organized. Highly recommended for families and beginners – we’ll definitely come back! 🌊🏄‍♂️

Super school, super teachers. The cost is well worth it. Perfect for kids. My daughter was able to stand and enjoy the waves and it was her first time.
