Some of the crew from UK Active Outdoors were providing axe throwing and archery at Thornbury Castle where we were staying on boxing day. They were super friendly and lots of fun. We had a wonderful time! Thank you so much!

Great place for outdoor activities like archery, axe throwing, canoeing, bow paintball and sword fighting (padded) - there is more but I could not remember it all. The site is ran by two very passionate lads -  Simon and Tristan. They cater and adapt the site offering - from kid friendly caving, archery and scavenger hunts (with plenty to show and teach the kids about local flora and fauna), through special needs offering for range of disabilities like wheelchair archery, or more energetic activities for stag and hen parties (to burn some energy or find inner wild child before the evening debouchery 😉). And frankly for anyone in between. It may look rough around the edges, but it is the exact raw and dirty fun you and/or your kids need. It was a breath of fresh air (literally) after hours spent with my kiddo at indoor soft play venues in the past. But at the same time it felt safe, it felt well though through and it felt personable. Suffice to say, my kid was knackered at the end with more than a few grass and mud stains I had to explain to my wife, but on the way back she said she had an amazing time and wants to go back, after which she fell asleep, which in itself is worth every penny 😁

We came here as a group for axe throwing and had an amazing time! The weather was perfect, the place itself is great, and to top it off, our instructor Harry was fantastic – he gave everyone the same amount of attention and made sure we all had a great experience. Highly recommended!

Had an awesome day at Uk Active for Father’s Day. Getting to do variations of sword combat and battle archery was brilliant.

Finished off by a calmer trip down the River Avon in kayaks.

Our instructor Sam was really insightful and had great for both the battle elements and kayaking, with great knowledge of the area and wildlife.

Definitely recommended and 100% will be back again for more battle archery 🏹
