Description
Come learn all about the fascinating world of mushroom identification!
You'll spend a few hours with Marina, your knowledgeable guide, exploring the local landscape and learning how to find and identify different types of mushrooms.
Along the way, you'll gain insight into their habitats, seasons, and typical features, learn how to use books and keys, and how to go about data collection for identification on your own.
You'll also learn about foraging best practices, laws, lookalikes, methods of preparation, uses, and perhaps some folklore or history too.
This activity is focused on ID practices as well as about foraging for food. Please note there is no fungi collection during the course itself due to the limited space. I like to run my courses with a wild food taster or drink.
This activity is not strenuous as mushroom spotting is a slow-paced activity, though there will likely be mud and the typical forest terrain to navigate.
