Description
Swansea is the second city of Wales with a population of around 300,000 including surrounding areas. Swansea Bay is magnificent and has been compared to the Bay of Naples.
This was one of the first regions of the world to industrialise, with the smelting of copper very important to the area. Approaching Swansea from the east it is impossible to miss the massive Port Talbot Steel Works that dominates the landscape, and still shows the importance of heavy industry in the region to this day.
As in any part of Wales there are ancient remains aplenty, from the Neolithic to the Ancient British, as well as the Romans and the Normans. They have all left their mark in this part of Wales.
Outside the City of Swansea you’ll find the stunning and breathtaking valleys. Our day tour of Swansea and inland is flexible, and we will tailor it to suit your requirements if possible. Some of the sites that you could visit include Rhossili Beach, voted one of the best in the World. We can also include excursions to Oystermouth Castle, Neath Abbey ruins, and the Vale of Neath Waterfalls.
Our tours are full day, and time permitting we can also visit the spectacular Dan Yr Ogof cave system or Brecon Beacons National Park. Should you wish to visit an attraction or monument that charges a separate entrance fee we can arrange a subsidy with the attraction on your behalf.
