Adventure on the Regency canal London

We’re planning a paddleboarding trip along the beautiful Regent’s Canal, making a full day of it with a train journey into London and a scenic paddle through some of the capital’s most characterful waterways.

We’ll travel in by train in the morning, then head to our launch point along the canal where you’ll inflate your board at the water’s edge. Please make sure you bring your own paddleboard, pump, paddle, leash, and any safety kit you usually carry. Once everyone is ready, we’ll set off along the canal, paddling towards Camden.

The route is relaxed and picturesque, taking us past narrowboats, waterside homes, and leafy towpaths. There are several canal locks along the way which we’ll need to navigate carefully. This may involve getting off your board and walking around the lock gates, so be prepared for short portages and follow instructions to move through safely and courteously.

We’ll stop at Camden Town for a well-earned food break. With its vibrant atmosphere and huge choice of street food and cafés, it’s the perfect place to refuel before getting back on the water.

After lunch, we’ll continue paddling towards ZSL London Zoo, enjoying one of the most scenic stretches of the canal as it winds past green spaces and alongside Regent’s Park. Once we reach our turnaround point, we’ll retrace our route back to the original launch spot, deflate boards, pack up, and head back to the station to catch the train home.

Clothing should be practical and weather-appropriate: quick-drying layers, something warm for after paddling, and footwear suitable for getting on and off the board and walking around locks. A dry bag for valuables, water, and sun protection is strongly recommended.

It should be a fantastic day combining travel, city scenery, gentle adventure, and great food — a unique way to experience London from the water.
