A blissful evening of melody, mantra and song from different parts of the world to harmonise, unite and uplift us
Description
ABOUT THE EVENING & SACRED SONG PRACTICE
I met Claire at a sacred singing circle event a few months ago and I loved the evening and Claire so much that I decided to invite her to do something for us in Middlesbrough and she kindly agreed.
If you're new to devotional singing or mantras this is a great way to come and feel your way in to what can be a truely healing, beautiful and powerful experience. You don't have to have a great singing voice, just your voice. I am testament to that, if you've been in sessions with me already you'll know I sometimes offer a mantra to chant and guide, & I'm not a singer at all, but it's not about how well you sing it's about how you feel.
You'll be given a warm welcome and be guided with grace into exploring and discovering the power of our own voice and the uplifting nature of devotional music.
Singing is a sacred practice and the voice a tool to fine-tune our consciousness.
When we sing mantras, that is, devotional music where we repeat a sacred phrase and a simple but beautiful melody, we drop out of the mind and into the heart and enter a blissful yet meditative state.
In every spiritual tradition on earth singing and music has been used to connect us to the sacred reality, to harmonise our body, mind, spirit and to strengthen our communities. Claire loves to teach and sing music from a variety of traditions, sharing the unity of mystical experiences she has discovered on her journey.
MORE ABOUT CLAIRE & HER JOURNEY
Claire has been singing as a spiritual practice for more than a decade heavily influenced by her time in India and Turkey she studies both the Ragas, which is the ancient music system of India and the Ilabis, the devotional music from the Sufi tradition. Compelled to share the joy she finds in her practice she began to lead sacred singing circles a few years ago, sharing simple yet beautiful and meaningful mantras from a variety of spiritual traditions.
'For me the medicine is really in the melody itself, the resonance of the sounds and the arrangement of notes can bring deep healing and transformation from within'
