The Signature Tour

  • Rental

The very best that Loch Lomond has to offer.

Description

A new and exciting addition to our range of speedboat trips, our Signature Tour takes in the very best that Loch Lomond has to offer. This experience is based around the type of day we would spend with our friends or family if they were to visit. We start the tour from our private farm jetty on Portnellan with introductions and a short safety briefing before boarding the Husky for a half day excursion on one of Scotland’s most iconic lochs.

Once clear of the bay, a short blast across open water brings us to The Highland Boundary Fault Line and the gateway to the Highlands of Scotland. As we venture further north we will pass by the impressive Ross Dhu House, seat of the clan Colquhoun and now home to the famous Loch Lomond Golf Club. A tranquil cruise through the islands that make up ‘The Narrows’ allows time to fully appreciate one of the most scenic areas on Loch Lomond and learn a little about the local history. Keep your eyes peeled for the Highland Cows of Inchtavannoch as we pass by.

A mile or so north of the islands lies the picturesque village of Luss, nestled in the shadow of Bienn Dubh, where we will make our first stop. The village alone is worth a visit but for those so inclined there is the added attraction of the new distillery where guests can pick up a local dram.

Setting off on the boat again we head even further north and the landscape begins to change from rolling lowland hills to rugged highland beauty. The mountains rise steeply from the loch shore and tower above much like a Norwegian fjord. Having fully appreciated the breathtaking scenery we turn the boat south and make for the Island of Inchmurrin, home to the Scott family for nearly 100 years. Alongside their traditional family farm, the Scott’s run a charming restaurant on the island, the perfect setting for a bite to eat and the chance to sample some delicious local produce.

After a hearty lunch we board the Husky once more and cruise along the length of the Fault Line to Inchcailloch, a mystical island with a wealth of history. A short walk up the hill will take you to one of the best view points on Loch Lomond and the ruins of an ancient church and burial ground used by local clans; the MacGregors and MacFarlanes. Once lunch has been walked off we depart the island and make the short journey back to Portnellan to finish the tour where it began.

Please allow 4.5 to 5 hours for this experience.

Please note that the maximum number of passengers is 8 regardless of age.

What to bring

Please be aware that the Scottish weather can be unpredictable and weather forecasts can be inaccurate. We would always recommend bringing a warm and waterproof jacket and hope not to need it. Suncream and water can be just as important on a hot day.

We had the most incredible kayaking experience at Portnellan farm. We had the whole loch to ourselves. It was so relaxing and so worth the price. Would highly recommend
