Description
Join our weekly club paddle starting at Kew Bridge. We start with a safety briefing and plan the route based on the tide before heading out on to the river. We will either be heading up to Isleworth/Richmond or downriver towards Barnes/Hammersmith. How far we get will depend on how fast the current is and whether on the incoming (Flood) or outgoing (Ebb) tide. These sessions are open to non members but you must have previous experience with us or good experience on the tidal Thames before joining.
Requirements
You do not need to be a proficient swimmer, but should be comfortable about falling into water while wearing a buoyancy aid.
A certain level of flexibility and ability to get up to standing from kneeling is required for learning to paddleboard.
You will need to shower / wash thoroughly after the session if you have fallen in or been splashed and need to ensure any open cuts are covered.
We have taken people with physical and mental disabilities out on the water however please contact us before booking as we may need to take you out privately to ensure you receive the coach's full attention.
We will also need to know of any recent injuries prior to the session.
What to bring
We provide all equipment - Board, Paddle, Buoyancy aid (mandatory) and depending on your experience Quick release waist leashes will be available (when paddling as part of a group a leash will not be mandatory).
Your paddling attire should be suitable for the conditions and location you are paddling. We do have some wetsuits available to use at each site but availability may depend on other bookings.
If you would like more info on what to wear or you are looking to purchase equipment/clothing just drop us an email of phone call and we will be happy to help/advise.
