Sunset Kayak Adventure

Slow down and see the city in a different light. Explore a scenic stretch of the River Thames, brush through nature and discover the wild side of the waterways in the golden light of dusk.

Our Sunset Kayak Adventures, in a mix of single and double touring kayaks, are a sublime way to wind down before drifting back downstream to your start point and an optional pint at a riverside pub to finish.

Whether you’ve never paddled or are a seasoned pro, this easy-going, circular trip is suitable for you!

Anyone taking to the River on a Sunset Kayak Adventure must:

1. be able to swim 50 metres.*
2. be able to paddle independently without assistance.
3. wear their buoyancy aid at all times whilst on the water.

*If you are a weak swimmer please do let your instructor know so that they are aware of it.

You are going to be paddling beautifully stable, locally made, touring kayaks but due to the nature of the activity, there is a chance that you may get wet.

You’ll receive a (re)introduction to paddling, along with some guidance on where to paddle, and we’ll provide you with a dry bag that you can use to take a towel, food, phone and wallet with you.

Paddling towards Twickenham, you’ll get to explore the islands and backwaters of the Thames, before mooring up to pause for a pint at one of the paddle friendly, riverside pubs along the way. You’ll have time for a drink before we turn on the lights to drift back to Richmond in the still of the night.

Once back at River Lane you'll help to stow the kit and pack away your boats before we say our farewells!
