    Description


    Start your sailing journey with us at Whiteadder Watersport Centre. This is a Two Day introduction to sailing for novices (16 yrs +). By the end of the course you will have the basic understanding of dinghy-handling techniques and background knowledge.     Please note that we need a minimum number of two confirmed participants for this course to run. If we have not received this minimum 14 days before the course begins, we will contact you.










    A Group Booking Discount of £30 per person is applied during checkout when you book for 2 or more people at the same time.

    Under sixteens should enrol for the RYA Youth Scheme starting with Stage 1. Contact us if you are a family group and would like adults and children to learn together.

    On successful completion of Level 1 Start Sailing, we recommend that you continue your journey towards becoming an independent sailor with RYA Level 2 Basic Skills.

    Requirements

    Minimum age: 16 years old is recommended.

    Required experience: None

    Recommended: You are comfortable in the water and can swim 50m


    What to bring

    Please bring with you:

    1. Wetsuit (if you have your own one, otherwise we will provide you one)
    2. Swimwear or non-cotton base layer
    3. Spare change of clothes (e.g. board shorts and active top for warmer days)
    4. Closed toe footwear (that you don’t mind getting wet, just in case our boots don’t fit you)
    5. Cap & sunscreen (for sunnier days)
    6. Woolly hat (for cooler days)
    7. A towel
    8. Food and water bottle (appropriate for the duration of the course) Coffee and tea, microwave and kettle available but no cafe.
    9. A separate bag (for wet and dirty things)
    10. Any personal medication (e.g. inhaler)

    Please also note the below:

    1. We would advise all jewellery is removed
    2. Long hair should be tied back
    3. Any cuts of grazes should be covered with waterproof dressings

Great SUP lesson, enjoyed by young and old. Was a nicely paced experience with lots of time to explore on the board once we had mastered the basics and safety. Awesome location to enjoy the water.
