Wednesday Nordic walking group meeting at the Moorhen Car Park - we meet near to the pub and river These are nice, supportive groups for all levels and we advise you might want to start with a Beginner Walk - Listed on Mondays 9:30am at the Town Park or Fridays 11am next to Parndon Wood nature reserve 1st but, we can teach here too if you let us know as we have a team of leaders We often cover 3-4 miles - at times a bit further if the group would like to. The paths and grass verges near the river whether we walk to Parndon Mill and onwards through the locks, over towards the Town Park on the big green bridge that goes over the train line and towards the nature reserve and ancient woods; Or we might head towards the redwoods and Harlow Mill past the marshland, towards Harlow Mill. If you’re new to Nordic walking, we recommend starting with a Beginner Walk on Mondays at 9:30am in the Town Park or Fridays at 11am next to Parndon Wood nature reserve. However, we’re happy to teach Nordic walking skills during this session if you let us know in advance, as our experienced team of leaders is here to help. Join us for a refreshing 2-hour walk along the scenic River Stort Navigation, covering 3-4 miles or more depending on the group’s pace and preferences. Our route takes in beautiful riverside paths and grassy verges, exploring iconic local spots such as Parndon Mill, the historic locks, the Town Park via the impressive green bridge over the train line, ancient woodlands, redwoods, and Harlow Mill’s marshland. This walk is designed to boost your physical health, enhance your wellbeing, and connect you with nature in a welcoming, inclusive setting. Whether you want to build fitness, improve your technique, or simply enjoy gentle outdoor exercise with like-minded people, this group offers a perfect balance of challenge and community. Please wear comfortable footwear suitable for mixed terrain, bring water, and dress for the weather.
