The Lighthouse SEND Activity Session

The Lighthouse sports and social hub is working with Essex ActivAte and Essex County Council to be offering funded active sessions from 13:00 to 16.00.

Friday 30th October

We will be offering 15 free spaces a day.

This session is open to all children with SEND, as well as those who may find large groups, loud noises, social situations, or anxiety challenging. A diagnosis is not required to attend — we welcome any child who may benefit from a calmer, more supportive environment.

This session is designed to offer extra support in a smaller group setting, with a maximum of 15 children and a staff-to-child ratio of 1:5.

This sessions will take place at The Lighthouse sports and social hub, lower marine parade, Harwich, CO12 3ST.

Our funded session is for Primary aged school children (5-11yrs) who are in receipt of benefits based free school meals or low income working families. Please complete the questionnaire and let us know which category you qualify under.

We will be providing healthy snacks and drinks.

We have a SEND coordinator at hand keeping the children fully entertained throughout the day. Every child will get the chance to develop and improve on day to day life skills as well as building confidence and self-esteem.

Each session is led by our fully qualified Activity Professionals, who ensure that your children are safe, having fun, and learning new skills. It is our goal to support, lead, and inspire children.

Arts and Crafts

Please ensure that the children bring everything they need for the activities including trainers, sun screen and a hat if the weather forecast looks good, jogging bottoms, t-shirt, jumper (old clothes) and a coat if needed.

You MUST also fill in the questions required in booking email to ensure child’s place.

Parent/Carers are welcome to stay.

Please ensure you have completed the online questionnaire, No WONDE codes required.

Please ensure that the children bring everything they need for the activities including trainers, jogging bottoms, t-shirt, jumper (old clothes) and a coat. Spare clothes are always a good idea.
