Description

The BIG Tide swims are once a month this year and are generally chilled pace distance swims that can be up to 2K or more depending on the conditions. It will give you the opportunity to challenge your ability and technique, with a focus on open water skill development.

Who is this suitable for?

Swims will be based on swimming front crawl (freestyle) and would be excellent training for triathletes, surfers and swimmers alike. You must be a relatively competent front crawl swimmer, if you are unsure of your suitability please get in touch.

Please allow time for getting to the beach and getting changed. Time in the water may vary depending on conditions and temperature.

The River Gannel is a tidal river leading into Crantock Beach and is an excellent place for swimming when the conditions and tides allow. Big spring tides allow for a longer swimming experience as the river is much more full. Please bear in mind swimming in the river does come with risk and the timing of the swims are strict as is safety equipment.
