  • Spring Bank Holiday | Discover the Wey & Arun Canal

    Description

    ✨ Wey & Arun Canal | Morning SUP trip | Loxwood ✨

Discover Loxwood and the charming Wey & Arun Canal over the Spring Bank Holiday Weekend. This one truly is one of our favourites.

With small group sizes, these day trips are designed as an opportunity for you to make new friends and explore new rivers. Our trips are open to the public and are not a Paddle Up Club event, but club members are still very welcome to book.

    Loxwood | Saturday 25th May | 3 mile paddle

We’re excited to announce a picturesque paddle from Loxwood down to Drungewick Aqueduct. We will meet in a car park just next to the canal (exact location sent post booking). This is a gentle 3 mile paddle with easy launching, calm waters, and only 1 portage, so we should be in for an easy ride. We will include a break at Drungewick Aqueduct, so pack snacks and a flask of tea. Then leisurely embark on our return journey.

This trip is designed to help you slow down, take a breath, and admire the scenery and charm of the countryside. We paddle at your pace and no one gets left behind.

See what to expect on the trip here.

✨ If you have a group of between 6 and 10 of you. Get in touch for a group discount.

    FAQ’S

    Can I come solo? Absolutely

Do I need to be a member? Nope

Do I need my own kit? We have boards and kit available to hire

    Age requirements? Adults only

Is it for woman only? These trips are open to all genders

🩹 The quality of our local waterways is something to always be aware of and it’s important to do your own research regarding this. When paddle boarding with us we ask that you cover up any minor cuts and abrasions, and to wash once you are home if you fall/swim in the river, this is to reduce the risk of disease such as weil's disease. Paddle Up strongly recommends not to participate in paddling if I have any open wounds, and instead to reschedule. Read our FAQ's here.

    Requirements

This paddle is open to all but we do ask that you are...

    1. Fit for a 3 mile paddle
    2. A competent paddle boarder
    3. Can avoid water based obstacles
    4. Can fall off and get back on unaided
    5. Can get from kneeling to standing
    6. A confident swimmer
    7. Can launch safely
    8. Adults only, 18+
    9. Ideally have some experience paddling on rivers
    10. If you are using your own board, you must have a valid British Canoeing membership. If you don't have one, you can purchase it here.
    11. This trip is open to the public and is not a Paddle Up Club event, but club members are still very welcome to book
    12. If you are unsure of the required ability level, please email us to discuss: info@paddleup.co.uk
