SWIMMER SAFETY AND RESCUE CPD - £155
A great bolt on CPD, filled with useful and practical information!
This specifically designed course is aimed at swimmers and coaches/teachers looking to further their knowledge of the sea environment, risk assessment and how to rescue a swimmer in trouble.
This will give you increased confidence that should a situation arise during a session, you will be better equipped to deal with someone in trouble in the water as well as exploring available safety and rescue equipment for your swim session.We'll also explore other safety and rescue equipment.
COURSE CONTENT:
The course is split into two parts:
- Theory over 1 online session (usually 7:30pm-9pm) covering:
the beach/ocean environment, gaining knowledge and awareness of weather, water temperature, tides, swell, rip currents, wildlife and understanding their effect on swimming.
We'll also talk about how to recognise someone struggling in the water, the drowning process and dealing with a rescue situation.
2.Practical session, 9:30am - 4:30pm, held at Bigbury on Sea (in front of the glorious Burgh Island) in South Devon.

Learning and practising rescue skills with and without equipment such as throw rope and rescue tube.
Price also includes access to the Coast to Coast online learning platform to prepare the theory and practical.

We can deliver the practical session in your area to make it tailored for your swims, it would require a minimum of 3 persons and the session to be delivered during weekdays only. There's an additional cost of £10pp to cover travel expenses.

We recommend refreshing these skills after 24 months and offer a one day follow up course (£95) whereby we put you through scenarios to build confidence, iron out any problems caused by skill fade as well as helping to improve technique and build on what you learnt from your initial course.
