Description
'Assisted Swims' allow swimmers to take on swims they might be a little nervous about, or that might be a little too far for them to manage in a safe and controlled way. We paddle a rescue board around the swim, towing a second board (attached by a leash). This allows the swimmer the option of paddling the second rescue board for parts of the swim or simply taking a safe break. This opens up a world of new swims and means that if a swim distance is too far, the swimmer can take a break, get a tow around part of the distance... If you wanted to swim around St Michael's Mount for example, you could swim a number of sections, take regular breaks and paddle parts of the swim. You have around 70 minutes, so you can pick and choose which sections you swim and which sections you paddle/get towed. You can also do this as a relay. So one swimmers swims, whilst the other paddles and then you swap.
