Dinghy Cruise on Derwentwater

Description

A chance for Arnside Sailing Club members to sail on Derwentwater as part of a Wanderer Dinghy Owners Association event.

Overlooked by Skiddaw and Catbells, Derwentwater is one of the most scenic lakes,

The event is based at Derwentwater Marina at Portinscale on the north side of the Lake. There will be safety boat cover.

Come for a day or all three days.



Requirements

Competent Dinghy Sailor. At least one experienced helm per boat

What to bring

Buoyancy Aid (borrow one from club if necessary). Change of clothing. Picnic lunch

Itinerary

Dinghy cruise each day with the possibility of an informal races using islands as marks. We will stop for lunch at a beach for a picnic. On some days, but not all, we may stop in walking distances of a cafe or pub

It's a great small venue with an eclectic mx of music from a turn up and play/sing to class acts at reasonable prices

Played a gig at The Sailing Club in the Old Customs House. Lovely venue, lovely audience. Arnside itself very pretty area. Estuary beautiful but care needed when walking on sand, especially with animals...lots of ...
