Forest School themed sessions at Knucklas Castle Community Land Project

Description

Knucklas Castle Community Land Project invites you to join us in our much celebrated children-focused Forest School sessions, aiming to connect children and families to the local land and its history.

In these sessions we will focus on old traditions and crafts, inspired by the era of Knucklas Castle. Think bows and arrows, natural dying, charcoal making, foraging and wild cooking - and plenty more! Each two hour session will have a different theme, all taught within the Forest School ethos, which aims to develop a child's holistic learning and wellbeing through building self-esteem, healthy relationships and connecting them to nature. We will incoporate tools use to promote healthy risk-taking and a sense of self-responsibility, and old myths, traditions and folklore instil a deeper sense of 'belonging' and connect children to their natural environment.

This series of events will take place on the last Saturday of each month during term-time. Parents are invited to stay for the session and to take part, or if your child is aged 8+ children may attend unattended.
