IRF Raft Guide Workshop

This workshop is designed for people looking to become a Raft Guide.

The main focus of the course is to build core skills and

knowledge to set you up for success in your guiding career.

Raft Guide 2 & 3 assessment available during the course.

The following topics will be covered:

Physical Skills- Rafting techniques, crew training and management, emergency and rescue techniques.

Theoretical and Practical Knowledge - Equipment (types and usage), safety and emergency procedures, river hydrology, leadership and signals.

This is an offsite course on natural rivers.

PRE COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Training:

1. Age 18 or over
2. Be able to swim

Assessment:

1. Logbook
2. Valid 2 day First Aid training
3. Aged 18 or over

COURSE DURATION

Training: 3 days (1st day will be 9:00-17:00. 2nd/3rd day times may vary)

PRICE

Training: £150 per person.

Not including IRF Fees for certification Guide $40, Trip leader $70,

Instructor $130.

All IRF awards are valid for 3 years when supported with a valid

first aid certificate.
