Description
The Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Instructor course is the first step on your coaching journey. Learn to introduce others to the sport you love whilst developing your own instructing skills in SUP.

Requirements
What to bring
- Clothes and shoes appropriate to the weather that you’re willing to get wet (e.g. warm clothes in colder months or shorts/t-shirt in the summer. Please no jeans, crocs, or flip-flops. Remember it may be warm outside but the water may still be cold!)
- Spare clothes and shoes.
- A hat.
- Any medication you may require throughout the day - please ensure staff are made aware of this.
- A towel
- Lunch/food to keep your energy up.
- A drink to keep you hydrated, we will provide tea, coffee and water.
- Any personal or leadership specialist kit you may own (e.g. buoyancy aid, cag, etc).
- We can provide cags and trousers (wind proof and stops some water) to keep you warmer.
- We will provide boats, buoyancy aids and paddles.
Itinerary
The SUP instructor qualification is designed for instructors running paddlesport taster/starter sessions within the safety management systems of clubs, centres, or other organisations in very sheltered water environments. You will cover:
- Practical skills (training focused)
- Engagement and relationship building skills (training focused)
- Professional standards (formative assessment)
- Personal paddling and rescue skills (assessed)
