Private full-day guided spearfishing experience
£295 per person
Discover guided spearfishing in Cornwall with a fully bespoke one-to-one experience. Whether you're trying spearfishing for the first time or are an experienced spearo looking for local knowledge, the day is tailored to your experience and the prevailing conditions.
All premium equipment is provided, including a California-made Riffe speargun, long-blade freediving fins, wetsuit, mask, snorkel, weight belt, float system and diving knife.
Cornwall's underwater conditions change dramatically with wind, swell, tides and visibility. We'll select the best launch points and dive routes on the day, with the opportunity to visit two different locations if conditions allow.
Along the way you'll learn how to identify productive habitats, understand how conditions influence fish behaviour, and search for species such as bass, pollack, mullet, wrasse, plaice, cuttlefish and lobster.
If you're successful, we'll demonstrate the humane dispatch of your catch, fish preparation and cleaning, together with advice on storage and cooking. Throughout the day we promote safe, ethical and sustainable spearfishing in accordance with current fisheries regulations.
No catch is ever guaranteed, but a memorable day exploring Cornwall's spectacular underwater world certainly is.
Every venue is chosen on the day according to wind, swell, tides and underwater visibility, ensuring we always dive the most suitable conditions available rather than a fixed location.
Meet at Surf Sanctuary
We'll discuss the day's conditions before selecting the most suitable venue. You'll be fitted with your equipment and introduced to the speargun, safety procedures and the plan for the day.
Equipment and safety briefing
Before entering the water we'll cover:
Dive One (90-120 minutes)
The first dive is about becoming comfortable with the equipment and understanding the environment. We'll cover:
If suitable opportunities arise, we'll begin hunting straight away.
Lunch and venue review
We'll review the first dive, adjust equipment if necessary and, where conditions allow, relocate to a second venue to experience different terrain and maximise opportunities.
Dive Two (90-120 minutes)
The afternoon session focuses on applying what you've learnt while exploring new ground. Depending on the conditions, we'll target habitats most likely to hold the day's species.
Preparing your catch
If we're fortunate enough to land fish, you'll learn how to humanely dispatch, clean and prepare your catch for the journey home, together with practical advice on storage and cooking.
